This turn of the Century brick office building called the Medical Arts Building was being renovated for office space. The historic nature of the structure required that the windows be conserved rather than replaced. In this instance the project specification called for removal of the finish on both the interior and exterior. After the failed finish was removed, we concentrated our efforts on the conservation, repair and re-installation of the original the windows. Due to modifications in the floor plan at various times several windows were eliminated. The scope of the work called for these units to be replaced. Using a surviving sash as a model, we had replacement plank frame sash fabricated to match the originial window units.
